Disclaimer: I hate hip hop with a active passion. I'm proud I couldn't name one song on MTV or most radio stations/XM channels. I only know who Rick Ross is because I watched the Joe Rogan Podcast with the real Freeway Rick Ross who had his name stolen by some tubby wannabe tough-guy.
BUT I noticed that "6x6 Benz G Wagon" was trending on Twitter. Turns out Rick Ross tweeted a pic of a 6x6 and everybody flipped out. Dunno if he bought it or just took a picture. I also noticed that his header image is a pic from Vogue Hommes International (a fashion mag) with a Testarossa and a naked model. These are all great things and I thought you might like to see stuff we love filter to the general population. Though, I would be impressed if he could fit in a Testarossa, let alone drive it.

He raps about cars allllllllll the time. I'd love to know what his garage looks like.
Here's "911" by Rick Ross.
IN MY 911!

Now I want a white Testarossa and a naked model...

A lot of rappers actually have very cool taste in cars, probably the most jalop genre of music lyrically.

Dude Kinja is so drunk right now. I can't even read your other comment and that thread wasn't even that long.
Well hopefully it lets you see this link:

Also, mother of HRRGGGGGG

I honestly cannot believe that dude fits in a 911, even a 991. He's huge.

Truth.

If it was doing coke it would probably be faster and better!
Did you see it's an early one with the one side mirror?
And did you see the BROWN interior?
This must have been a coke dealer's car

"First you get the money, then you get the car, THEN you get women"... or something like that.
![]() 07/10/2014 at 20:58 |

Yep, the statistics clearly support the coke owner theory. So nice.

The TR and model did that to Kinja.

Hopefully there are no super crabs in the seats that survived for a long time without a human host.
Because you know there was some naked sex in this car...
![]() 07/10/2014 at 21:01 |

Literally guaranteed, coke dealer or not. I'd get that car so detailed, and I still wouldn't be completely comfortable.
![]() 07/10/2014 at 21:02 |

From what I know, most of the time they buys cars to show off (not always, ex. Ice T). You don't see many going to Cars and Coffee or track days, bro. As a whole, rock musicians more often have cool cars and use them.
Rappers do have cool cars, but to call them Jalop is a stretch. It's against the Jalop ethos to buy a car just to show off. You can be rich and buy nice cars, but if you don't take them out and don't know how to drive them, it's a waste.
![]() 07/10/2014 at 21:04 |
|
I would need to get the seats redone just to be safe.
![]() 07/10/2014 at 21:04 |

In this case, it's one of the biggest feathers in my proverbial cap to have nearly no knowledge of current "popular" music. This also goes for country music and EDM. I can't stand the music that most people my age (29 y/o) like. Sorry if you or others do, but those three categories are literally a joke to me. I'm generally very liberal open minded about most other things, including cars.
![]() 07/10/2014 at 21:06 |

And I don't know how to speak Thai. Can't say I'm proud of that however.
![]() 07/10/2014 at 21:06 |

I'd put driving gloves on whenever going near that car. my actual hands will never touch anything, especially the steering wheel and shifter knob.
![]() 07/10/2014 at 21:08 |
|
What a coincidence. A contractor at my job saw me browsing Oppo and brought up cars, he told me next year he's buying a 911 GT3, this guy is like 6'4" 400 lbs plus. I said that's a pretty small car and he said it's huge in the inside and that he sat in one comfortably and said even if he was 6'6" he'd still be comfortable. He said a couple years ago he was about to buy a Ferrari 599 GTB off a guy for $79k but he couldn't fit in the 599 comfortably.
![]() 07/10/2014 at 21:09 |

I know that there are at least a few with testarossas e30s and vintage porches. Not everything you hear in a song is true. Also, we probably don't listen to the same rap music.
![]() 07/10/2014 at 21:09 |

Kinja will not let me see your last comment so I have to respond to this one.
I saw the driving gloves part in the preview. I would also need a full race suit.

If you've heard any rap song in the last 10 years, I can promise we don't haha.
![]() 07/10/2014 at 21:14 |

Within the last year, I had to Google what EDM even was. I still don't know why it isn't still called techno.
![]() 07/10/2014 at 21:14 |

I generally don't listen to that lil' wayne drake type rap, more of a asap, schoolboy q type rap.
![]() 07/10/2014 at 21:19 |

I only knew what it was when GM put me up in the Renaissance Center for a job interview (didn't get it) and there was an EDM festival directly below my hotel room until 2AM.
All I can think of is Party Boy from Jackass (I'll spare you the image).

We can finally relate to him!
![]() 07/10/2014 at 21:46 |
|
Exactly.
Can the 458 hurry up and depreciate already so I can take out a 144 month auto loan for it and feel like a genius as it immediately starts appreciating?
I wonder how much a 458 Speciale with literally no options other than the backup camera and parking sensors (protect the car, yo) would cost.
...Running to check right now
![]() 07/10/2014 at 21:49 |
|
Awesome cars depreciate a little when they first stop making them, then they just start appreciating a lot. You must make your move then!
![]() 07/10/2014 at 21:54 |
|
I need moar money now!
I feel like going out tonight but I won't. I'll keep working while Oppoing. Work is not that annoying when you do OppoWörk.
I can't find a site that will configure the Speciale with options but the AOL Autos site will configure the base 458 coupe and spider with options. So we can probably assume that the options will cost the same for the Speciale to determine what a bare bones one would cost since the Speciale MSRP is published.
Dude check this out - you can order a brand new 458 Coupe with zero options for:
$233,859
Yet the cheapest one for sale right now that isn't a weird color or a track day rental is a 2010 with about 6000 miles on it for $200K flat. It has a few options but so not worth it to get options in exchange for a car that has NO warranty left because Ferrari didn't have that long warranty program in 2010. And 2010 is the first year of production and those were the cars that got recalled.
$200K is such a CP price for a 2010. They should seriously be more like $160K.
![]() 07/10/2014 at 21:56 |
|
Jesus, if they continue like this they'll go the way of the 993 and.... .never depreciate.
![]() 07/10/2014 at 22:06 |
|
seriously! damn it
so here is the scoop:
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
$2314
Reverse Camera System $3637
Base price (per Bloomberg): $288,000 before destination and gas guzzler tax
So I estimate $298,451 with the two options, the gas guzzler tax and destination.
I've seen used Italias and Spiders for way more than that because A) people order cars with a shit ton of options and B) the lightly used 2012-2014 cars sell for MORE than MSRP because buyers don't want to order a car and wait for it to be built.
So you know what we've established here? It's a NO BRAINER for anyone who can afford a $300K car to order a very lightly optioned Speciale!! Why pay to have carbon fiber trim for a base car when the Speciale comes with it and you get the faster engine and transmission and the fancy side slip control to make you drift as good as the Monkey?
And this car will be more rare and highly coveted in the future because last N/A special edition Dino.
Fuck
Fuck
Fuck
Fuck
Fuck
I wish I could qualify for this loan right f'ing now
![]() 07/10/2014 at 22:11 |
|
Wow. Anyone who is even remotely able to obtain a Speciale needs to do so AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!! That car will never lose value. Ever. Sell all the cars, and the mansion. You basically have no choice.
![]() 07/10/2014 at 22:16 |
|
Many thoughts going through mind now...
Can't sell house. It's too important for many reasons to keep it.
But I heard from someone on Oppo that some credit unions will do "no doc" loans. They'll give you the loan without verifying that you can really afford the payments.
They probably have you killed if you miss 2 payments in a row. But it might be worth it.
![]() 07/10/2014 at 22:25 |

It IS worth it. You know it is. STOP SITTING HERE TALKING TO SOME RANDOM MILLENNIAL ON THE INTERNET ABOUT IT AND DO SOMETHING
![]() 07/10/2014 at 22:31 |

It's so scary! I don't want to get my kneecaps shot!!
And once I finally make something happen you won't be some random Internet Millennial. You'll be the auto psychologist who helped me make it happen. See that does need to be an official job or side job of yours one day.
![]() 07/10/2014 at 22:40 |

Now I'm seriously wondering:
A) if Ferrari has any Speciale allocations left
B) if I could order one, drive it for 2 months, then sell it at a profit and use that money to buy a used 458
![]() 07/10/2014 at 22:45 |

It needs to be a Jalopnik sub-blog. I could make it work.
![]() 07/10/2014 at 22:46 |

GREAT IDEA
I was just looking at the Ferrari of SF inventory
Man those guys always have the best used cars for sale
![]() 07/10/2014 at 22:46 |
|
A) That's something you need to find out sooner than later. Get on it!
B) Depends on whether or not you'll fall in love with it.
![]() 07/10/2014 at 22:50 |
|
Because CA. CA has the best cars for sale, always.
![]() 07/10/2014 at 23:13 |
|
A) Too scared to email the Ferrari guy. That might lead to doing it
B) I'm sure I would. But the monthly payment and insurance payment would probably force me to sell it! Not ready for something this big, yet. Even if I sold all the cars it would be tough. It would be a lot easier next year
![]() 07/10/2014 at 23:17 |
|
Maybe used Speciale values will stay stable for a year, and you can just pick one up then.
![]() 07/10/2014 at 23:17 |
|
I doubt it!
I bet they'll sell for over MSRP for the first few years, then go down a little, then go through the roof

:'((((((

I can't get it out of my mind. OMG I need to buy something soon or I'll go insane.
![]() 07/11/2014 at 00:36 |

Oh my god 79k? That's insane...he should have bought it and sold it the next day for 140k...that's insane. I keep hearing the 991 is big inside, I haven't been in one yet for some reason but I am extremely impressed with how space efficient they are.
![]() 07/11/2014 at 06:54 |

I think you should just go insane. Your options are impossible to choose from.
![]() 07/11/2014 at 08:14 |

He told me not buying that car and keeping it to sell it today for 4x as much is one of his greatest regrets.
He's not hurting for money though he just bought his wife a fully optioned MB GL class for $112k (put 80k down). Even crazier I just learned this week that he never even finished High School, what am I doing with my life? -_-
![]() 07/11/2014 at 13:06 |
|
Wow, this guy must have built quite a business. There's a lot of money to be made in construction if you can get enough jobs done in a year...but right now it would be pretty tough to start. Just goes to show you that if you can find something that you know you can be good at, the sky is pretty much the limit.
![]() 07/11/2014 at 13:41 |
|
I'm quite envious of these kinds of situations because of how it's pounded into our heads that the only way to succeed is going to college and you've got this guy who dropped out his sophomore year of high school putting $80k down on a Mercedes for his wife.
![]() 07/11/2014 at 14:54 |
|
That's what's happening!
My family wants me to stop spending money on cars and get furniture and get married and have kids.
But I just want cars.
Don't ever get old...
![]() 07/11/2014 at 15:01 |
|
I know the one thing for sure that I've learned at this internship is that I should never get a family and settle down. Everyone with kids and such hate their lives and tell me to cherish mine while it still lasts. Then there's this one dude in the leasing who's in his 60s, single, and one of the most laid back awesome dudes I've ever met. And OF COURSE he drives a Jag, he's awesome.
XKR to be exact.
I want to be kind of like that guy.
![]() 07/11/2014 at 15:06 |
|
Haha yeah most people warn me too.
But being the single guy forever isn't fun either. You might be having fun a lot of the time. But it's also pretty lame to come home from a hard day of work just to order Chinese take out.
Marriage can be very good. It all depends on whether you pick the right person or not, and whether she changes after you get married. A lot of guys complain that their wife used to be chill but changed after they got married.
What men need is a Carmax warranty for marriage.
![]() 07/11/2014 at 15:10 |
|
I've also heard a lot of "IT'S A TRAP" comments as well. But yeah, you're right.
Imagine wasting tens of thousands of dollars in car money on a wedding just to get screwed over because there was no wife warranty?!?
![]() 07/11/2014 at 15:13 |
|
Exactly. It's all about finding what you're good at and working your ass off to be the best at it that you can be. Also about finding opportunities and taking advantage of situations that happen to you and making the best of everything. It may involve college, it may not. I can tell you that most of the things I've learned in life did not come from sitting in college classes on the way to a four year degree...kind of an expensive realization but that's life I guess.
![]() 07/11/2014 at 16:27 |
|
Where I live a nice warranty will cost at least $40K
And a divorce will cost me a lot more than that
But on the upside if I marry the right person I'll be happier and more productive and make more money.
It's half luck, half making a good decision
![]() 07/11/2014 at 16:29 |
|
Yeah, exactly. You're gonna need to fill the mansion eventually!!
But you should fill the garage with f cars first.
![]() 07/11/2014 at 16:33 |

Or at least an L car
Look how HILARIOUS this ad is:

Step 2: get this twin turbo kit (the stage 1.5 one) for $39k installed.
Step 3: hoon fo dayz

omg if that car had the manuel at that price i'd be buying it right now!

![]() 07/11/2014 at 18:45 |

All I know is a shit ton of people do it. I'd need to do some googling. And if you're serious about the R8, it's really close to home for me. Also, you have to ask yourself if it's worth paying an extra $10k-$15k for a manual. I found a couple.
This one's a V8
http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/ctd/452300…
This one is $22000 more.
http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/cto/454818…
![]() 07/11/2014 at 18:50 |
|
Very interesting! I can see an AZ registered batshit crazy car in your garage one day.
The manuals are so much more!
I'm not ready to actually pull the trigger on anything right now.
If I was it would be a really hard choice. Reliable and sensible R8? Or more exotic Gallardo or F430?
Or go crazy, sell a kidney , and order a 458 Speciale...
![]() 07/11/2014 at 18:53 |
|
I'd go reliable and sensible, just for the low cost, but still cool factor. And I hate to say it, but I might even go for an F1 over gated box. I love the idea of just clicking through the gears
![]() 07/11/2014 at 18:55 |
|
But I am not good at being sensible. I like the crazy stuff in life...
The F1 box is fun. But it's a maintenance nightmare...
![]() 07/11/2014 at 18:59 |
|
So twin turbo!
And I would worry about that. I'd probably end up getting 6MT for Jalop factor and that gated shift 'clink'
![]() 07/11/2014 at 19:02 |
|
I wonder if you can make a twin turbo Audi R8 V10 sound just like an Underground Racing TT Gallardo
Yeah mad Jalop cred if you have a gated shifter. I think you automatically get a Jalopnik Gold card
![]() 07/11/2014 at 19:08 |

Its a very similar block, so I can't imagine it would be hard to make it sound the same. All I know is the last one I saw sounded godly.
